Hey Eric, Great to hear from you. Please greet the family for me. I appreciate your perspective on forgiveness. My experience has been that sinners are more willing to forgive than the saints. Makes me kind of wonder who the real saints and who the real sinners are. ;) One thing for sure... I can only glory in the cross. Blessings and stay in touch.

Hey Youngblood. I just got off the phone with Billy Henderson. I lost touch with him and have not talked with him for 6-7 years. I thought of you and Googled Steve Youngblood in Kirksville. Good to see you are alive and kickin. Always remember, Budda Loves you.

Your friend,

Eric

Janis and the kids say Hi. We remember our days there with fondness. Good to see your doing well. We have all made our share of errors. I am glad that God is forgiving even when men aren't.

Comment on Commitment or Surrender by Steve Youngblood

Good Morning Steve,
I originally wrote Paul Ferree regarding an article he had posted on his web site. He later wrote me back saying that you are the author.

Recently I had heard a sermon by Adrian Rogers and he too mentioned the difference between commitment and surrender. He cited how in the early 60's the American terminology changed in the invitation to accept Jesus / Salvation message. The word commitment took place of the word surrender. Surrender ~ One which was a decisive act of our will giving up all for the sake and purpose of ….. and the other Commitment ~ based on our level of commitment such as in a marriage. What we are willing to give of. Not necessarily a total and complete surrender of our life, will ,emotions, abilities, etc.

Anyway,

I would like to share The writing on Commitment and Surrender with our readers at Living Fountain Ministries. You can learn a little more about us by visiting http://www.living-fountain-ministries.org/Ministry.html

We ensure that the article is cited or reproduced in its full context including if available a little bio of the writer as well. We ask that our readers do not reproduce or copy with out the authors expressed written consent. We encourage our readers to contact the writers…. All of our pages are No Right click to prevent copying material without the Author's permission. We also place a guestbook icon which readers can click to contact the writer via their email or website whichever they request.

Please prayerfully consider. I look forward to hearing from you.

May God's Blessings Be upon You in Abundance.

Hey Steve, Very nice blog.

I umpired your games at Wayland a couple of weeks ago and was talking to one of your coaches about playing in our tournament.

It is a 13-15 year old tournament.

I am trying to get 8 teams total from Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and am having troule getting teams from Missouri.

This will be a fun tournament "War at Wayland field" The Battle of the Borders, with lots of stuff going on.

Was wondering if you could get me the coaches info (e-mail) or phone. I would like to invite them to play. It was a pleasure umpiring for your kids they are very good sports. That is the kind of teams I would like to have play on our new field.

e-mail me any time check us out at www.waylandball.com

Thanks

Hi Amy,
I appreciate your thoughts... and they came across just fine. I agree that it should not be about leadership but rather about Jesus... thats what Paul meant when he said "...follow me as I follow Christ..." I think your "what ifs?" are awesome... this is the way servant leaders think and live...

Hi, Steve! My parents pointed me to your blog. I hope you don't mind me peeking in? I enjoyed reading your thoughts here. I thought I would throw out a few of mine. I apologize if it comes across not quite right. It is way past my bedtime. :-) What if it's not about leadership at all? What if it's about living life in relationship with Jesus. What if it's about sharing the good news with each other and pointing each other to Jesus our Shepherd/Leader. What if we can really trust Him to be who he says he is. What if we give each other room to grow trusting that Father God will complete the work he began in each of us. There are lots of questions like these that I have thought about the past few years and more and more I find it hard to read God's story and find what we have called "leaders".
