FOUNDATIONS ARE CONCLUSIONS

March 17th, 2007 by Steve Youngblood

Foundations are conclusions that guide our decisions and determine our destiny’s! The Bible is the clear record of God’s own conclusions. In this, ‘one of a kind book,’ we learn how the world was made, and why we were created. The Bible reveals, who God is, what God’s will is, and how to have a relationship with Him. Life can often be confusing and shaky, some times it feels like we are walking through an earthquake in the dark. However it may feel, we can be assured that if we have built our lives upon His truth, we will never be left in the dark, and we will never be shaken.

No Double Talk with Jesus

Jesus is revealed in Scripture as the Cornerstone and as the Light of the world. He spoke simple truth that caused men to light up with understanding, and to stand with firm conviction. His words were direct and clear. His yea was yea, and His nay was nay. He brought clarity and conviction whenever He spoke. There was no double-talk or ambiguity in anything He said or did. He brought His disciples into solidarity, by bringing them into the knowledge of Truth. He said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father but through Me.” His goal was not just for them to have information about God. He was there to make sure they truly knew God.

Truth is a Person, not just Facts

You see, truth is not a set of facts, it is a person, and His name is Jesus. He wanted His followers to have the same kind of relationship with His Father that He enjoyed. The only way they could know the Father was through Him. Often, He would speak in parables and make prophetic statements that were hard to understand. You would find His followers seeking Him out privately for further clarification of His sayings. He did this in order to hide the way from those who were not truly seeking His agenda, but to reveal ‘the way’ to those who were truly seeking Him.

Disciples that Disciple the Nations

We labor in ministry to make the kind of disciples that can disciple the nations. In order to do this we must make sure that we live and move and have our being in Him. We are not trying to convey just a set of facts or doctrines, because that only produces religion. We are endeavoring to allow the Living Word, to be revealed to and through us, so that those we influence can enter into a true relationship with the Father through His Son. The main purpose of the Bible is to reveal Jesus. When we know Him, we know the way to the Father…
